Today on Squarefoot, we explore an Indian jewellery designer family’s multigenerational Hong Kong home in Tai Wai Mid-levels.
On 8623 Tai Po Road, the 5,867 sq ft (545sqm) residence spans four floors, featuring five bedrooms and six bathrooms. Its design blends jewellery-inspired details with upscale, hotel-like aesthetics and Shanghainese influences, reflecting the family’s multicultural lifestyle.
The top floor houses the grandparents’ suite, the first floor features bedrooms, the ground floor offers living and dining spaces, and the lower ground floor includes its own kitchen, home cinema, and garden access.
Next to the grand front door is a hidden prayer area, accessible via a button that opens a secret door.
The living room is adorned with jewel tones, curved sofas, powder blue Italian pendant lights, and a marble-patterned feature wall with a fireplace. Arched windows open onto a balcony with stunning mountain views.
The emerald green kitchen boasts top-of-the-line appliances, a U-shaped layout, and a waterfall island.
On the second floor, the grandparents’ suite features a vibrant burnt orange king-size bed, parquet floors, and a Shanghainese-inspired accent wall. The ensuite bathroom is luxurious, with soaring ceilings, full-height windows, a double vanity, two bidets, and a rain shower enclosure in gold tones. Marble floors with a modern Versailles parquet design complete the look, while a walk-in closet connects the bedroom and bathroom.
The lower ground floor offers a home cinema, chic second kitchen, bedroom, and bathrooms, connected to a garden.
On the first floor, three spacious and elegantly furnished bedrooms provide comfort and style, each with an ensuite bathroom.
A skylight on the landing features a retractable cover for adjustable shade and privacy.
Back on the ground floor is a chic powder room for guest use.
