這座外觀採希臘式建築，建於19世紀初的教堂曾被列為英國的一級古蹟，經過轉賣給私人使用數十年後，以造價500萬英鎊、耗費兩年的時間修復重建，在恢復建築本身的遺產特色後重新向大眾開放。

2019年全新開幕的Mercato Mayfair，保留了具有歷史意義的外觀，擁有彩繪玻璃的古老教堂中，從地下室到二樓皆重新規劃成新興風格的時髦市集，裡面有供應美食美酒的攤位、餐廳與拱型天花板的酒窖，成了傳統宗教建築與現代融合的教堂美食市集，與一般美食街或美食廣場相同，只要到喜愛的攤位點餐，就會拿到通知取餐的蜂鳴器。

教堂入口的大廳成了宣導愛護環境理念，販售小眾、有機、環保食品的商店，一二樓有融合亞洲的街頭美食，還有義式、歐式、土耳其、海鮮等主題料理，並有多間雞尾酒及啤酒吧、餐廳與屋頂露台，擁有拱形天花板的地下室則設有一座供應新鮮切塊、來自世界各地的乳酪及美味小食的正宗酒窖。同樣位於地下室的Mayfair Community Space則是當地的「活動中心」，附近居民可以來此參加社區活動，還有免費的音樂課程及表演在這裡舉行，不定期還會舉辦大眾都能參與的瑜珈及烹飪課程。
