Thailand-Singapore relations strengthen through film co-production

“Baby Hero” was shot in both countries and involved crews of both nationalities, serving as a symbol of growing cultural cooperation. The Embassy of Singapore hosted a gala premiere at Siam Paragon on Wednesday, under the theme ‘Singapore–Thailand: Realising Opportunities for Growth’, or ‘STRONG@60’.
Singapore’s ambassador to Thailand, HE Catherine Wong, remarked on the deep connection between the peoples of both nations. She noted that travel between the countries remains robust, with one in every six Singaporeans having visited Thailand in 2024 alone.
She added that “on average, a Singaporean visits Thailand four to five times in their lifetime,” highlighting the enduring popularity of Thailand as a destination for Singaporeans.
Governor of Bangkok, Chadchart Sittipunt, attended the premiere, saying that the film is a prime example of the achievements possible through creative collaboration between Thailand and Singapore.
He added that multiple scenes were filmed in Thailand, including in Sukhothai, offering an opportunity to showcase Thailand’s rich cultural heritage to international audiences.
“Baby Hero” is slated for nationwide release in Thailand on April 17.
