南韓陸軍上士在前線部隊死亡，身上有外傷

路透首爾11月2日電——南韓國防部表示，週一上午，一名南韓陸軍上士在靠近北韓邊境的鐵原前線部隊身受外傷後死亡。SEOUL, Nov 2 (Reuters) - A South Korean army staff sergeant died after suffering external injuries at a frontline unit in Cheorwon near the North Korean border on Monday morning, Seoul's Defence Ministry said.

該部表示，軍方與民間調查人員正在調查其死亡的確切原因和情況。Military and civilian investigators were examining the exact cause and circumstances of his death, the ministry said.

這起死亡事件發生之際，邊境局勢正升高；9月21日，3名南韓士兵在軍事分界線以南遭地雷爆炸炸傷。The death comes amid heightened tensions along the border after three South Korean soldiers were wounded in landmine explosions south of the Military Demarcation Line on September 21.

目前尚不清楚這名上士週一的死亡是否與邊境緊張局勢有關。It was not immediately clear whether the staff sergeant’s death on Monday was related to the border tensions.

南韓軍方表示，9月引發爆炸的地雷是北韓所埋設，屬於其自2024年以來強化邊境防務行動的一環；平壤否認這項指控。South Korea's military has said the mines that caused the explosions in September were laid by North Korea as part of its efforts to fortify the border since 2024, an accusation Pyongyang has denied.
