Website tracks Jensen Huang’s every move in South Korea
TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang (黃仁勳) will arrive in South Korea on Thursday (June 4) for a family vacation before launching an intensive round of corporate visits the following day. The trip has sparked such intense interest that a website called "Jensen Huang's Footsteps" has emerged. The site tracks his movements and displays real-time stock prices of companies he is expected to visit.
Huang is scheduled to visit South Korea's largest tech firms, including Samsung Electronics, SK hynix, Naver, Hyundai, and LG, Yonhap News Agency (연합뉴스, 南韓聯合通訊社) reported. The website updates sector stock prices and breaking news while listing so-called "Jensen Huang concept stocks" alongside their price trends.
The frenzy surrounding Huang's travel schedule underscores Nvidia's outsize influence on global markets. Investors closely watch his meetings for signals about the chipmaker's partnerships in memory, artificial intelligence, and robotics.
Core stocks tracked on the site include Samsung Electronics, SK hynix, Naver, LG Electronics, and Doosan Robotics (두산로보틱스, 斗山機器人). The platform specifies each company's areas of collaboration with Nvidia, including high-bandwidth memory, sovereign AI, physical AI, and robotics technologies. High-bandwidth memory chips are critical components in Nvidia's AI accelerators.
Huang's previous visits to South Korea have generated significant buzz. Last October, he met top executives from Samsung and Hyundai at a fried chicken restaurant in Samseong-dong (삼성동, 三成洞), a business district in Seoul. Huang treated every table in the restaurant to fried chicken and personally handed out chicken to crowds gathered outside, reportedly triggering a surge in shares of poultry-related companies.
For this visit, Huang is expected to meet executives at a well-known grilled pork belly restaurant in Seongsu-dong (성수동, 聖水洞), a trendy neighborhood in Seoul. Whether business leaders will share samgyeopsal, grilled pork belly, and soju has sparked public curiosity. The visit is expected to deepen Nvidia's cooperation with major South Korean conglomerates, including Samsung, SK hynix, Hyundai, and LG. ◼
