MLB改制！例行賽縮減至154場 分區季後賽升級七戰四勝
MLB（Major League Baseball，美國職業棒球大聯盟）推動重大賽制變革，根據最新提案，未來例行賽場次將從現行的每隊162場縮減至154場，並將分區系列賽（Division Series）由現行的5戰3勝制改為7戰4勝制，未來在季後賽取得高種子資格的隊伍，將可享有「主動挑選」對手的特權。
這項被視為具有顛覆性的「自選對手」制度，預計最快將於2027年賽季上路。外卡系列賽與分區系列賽中，排名較高的高種子球隊，將不再受限於固定對戰組合，而是能根據戰績優勢與戰力考量，主動從取得季後賽資格的球隊中挑選交手對象。
至於例行賽場次縮減至154場，預計2029年實施，目的是讓球隊有「每週固定休息日」，降低密集出賽頻率，保障球員健康，以及延長職業壽命，同時也能有效降低球員受傷的狀況。
至於多年來備受詬病，強隊容易出現翻船的分區系列賽，預計將從2029年起全面統一改為7戰4勝制。如此一來，整體季後賽可望增加8場，有助提升票房收益與轉播價值。
