教宗良稱盼奧萊什基停火推動烏俄和平努力

烏克蘭與俄羅斯 10 月 23 日表示，雙方已同意在奧萊什基停火。這項停火由美國第一夫人梅蘭妮亞・川普（Melania Trump）斡旋，並有教宗良額外參與，目的是讓援助物資得以送達，並從這座前線城鎮撤離民眾；當地一直嚴重缺乏食物與藥品。Ukraine and Russia said on October 23 they had agreed to a ceasefire in Oleshky, brokered by US first lady Melania Trump with the additional involvement of Pope Leo, to allow aid deliveries and evacuations from the frontline town, which has been suffering acute food and medicine shortages.

烏克蘭總統澤倫斯基（Volodymyr Zelenskiy）表示，和平談判代表將於 11 月初會面，展開新一輪談判。Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy has said peace negotiators would meet for fresh talks in early November.

教宗良 10 月 16 日曾與俄羅斯總統普丁（Vladimir Putin）和澤倫斯基通話。克里姆林宮表示，普丁告訴教宗良，他支持梵蒂岡向奧萊什基平民運送物資的倡議，並準備合作。Pope Leo spoke with both Russian President Vladimir Putin and Zelenskiy on October 16. 週二，梵蒂岡外長、總主教保祿・加拉格爾（Paul Gallagher）表示，雖然教宗良最近曾與普丁和澤倫斯基通話，但他不認為梵蒂岡在安排這項為期 6 天的停火上扮演了直接角色。On Tuesday, the Vatican's foreign minister, Archbishop Paul Gallagher, said that although Leo had recently spoken with Putin and Zelenskiy, he did not believe the Vatican had played a direct role in arranging the six-day ceasefire.
