Six volunteers wounded in explosion in Pattani’s Muang district

Six defence volunteers were injured when an improvised explosive device (IED), hidden in a motorcycle, detonated near a police station in Muang district of Pattani province this morning.

Initial reports indicate that the rigged motorcycle was parked in a lane next to the police station and was detonated by a timer or remotely.

All of the injured were rushed to the district hospital.

Police cordoned off the area, while members of a bomb disposal squad searched for any more IEDs planted in the area.
