Serial cyanide murderess Sararat sentenced to death

Convicted serial killer Sararat Rangsiwuthaporn, otherwise known as ‘Am Cyanide’, was sentenced to death for a second time today by the Criminal Court after being found guilty of murdering Darinee (no surname provided) by poisoning on December 13, 2020 in Sam Phran district of Nakhon Pathom.

Sararat was indicted for diluting potassium cyanide in the drinking water and food of the victim with the intent to kill, because Sararat could not repay a huge amount of money she had borrowed from the victim.

The court ruled that the evidence proves that the defendant intended to kill and sentenced her to death.

This was the seventh of fifteen cyanide poisoning cases to come before the Criminal Court on which the accused is indicted.

In the first case, she was sentenced to death for poisoning Siriporn Khanwong in Ban Pong district of Ratchaburi. In the second case, she was sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder by poisoning of Parichart, a police officer. In the third case, she was acquitted due to insufficient evidence.

In the fourth case, she was sentenced to life for the murder of Pol. Cpt. Kanda. In the fifth and sixth cases, she was acquitted due to insufficient evidence.
