Paetongtarn said at a press briefing that the conversation should never have been made public by someone who once led a country and is the father of the current prime minister.
“There will be no more private conversations with him, because it used to be a matter of trust. From now on, there is no longer enough trust to have conversations like before,” she said.
Hun Sen confirmed that he shared the recording with many people, one of whom may have leaked it out of dissatisfaction after Paetongtarn accused him and his son, Prime Minister Hun Manet, of being unprofessional in using social media to conduct international politics."
Paetongtarn explained that she mentioned Second Region Army Commander Lt Gen Boonsin Padklang only because she was trying to ease tensions between Thailand and Cambodia and to convince Hun Sen to help restore peace between the two countries.
