Miss Denmark crowned new Miss Universe; Thai beauty queen named third runner-up

Chidimma Adetshina of Nigeria finished as first runner-up and Maria Fernanda Beltran of Mexico was named second runner-up.
Suchata Chuangsri of Thailand and Ileana Marquez Pedroza of Venezuela followed – with Pedroza, a 28-year-old mother, making history in the top five after the competition removed several restrictions in recent years.
Suchata, 21, a native of Phuket province, graduated from Thammasat University’s Faculty of Political Science. Her parents own and operate a hotel business in Phuket.

In the Miss Universe pageant, Suchata also wins co-Miss Congeniality with Miss Tobago and silver medal for the Voice for Change award.
Theilvig, 21, is a European and World Championship dancer, beauty entrepreneur, mental health advocate, and aspiring lawyer. She aims to use her platform to amplify the voices of the unheard and to be a force for good.
The international pageant featured a record-breaking 125 stunning delegates from around the globe.
This year also marked the first time in Miss Universe’s history that women aged more than 28 were permitted to enter. More than two dozen of the finalists were older than would have been allowed in previous years.
Malta’s Beatrice Njoya becomes the first and only woman in her 40s to reach the grand finale.

The Voice for Change winners
The Voice for Change award allowed delegates to share their thoughts on many social concerns and fields, shedding light on individuals’ challenges and offering suggestions for solutions.
According to the Miss Universe’s website, through this, they will "embody Miss Universe's mission of empowering confident women to make the world a better place."
