湖人帶著些微優勢進入末節，但關鍵時刻攻守失序，被魔術逐步蠶食比分。比賽最後7秒，湖人落後1分握有最後一波進攻機會，卻未能把握良機。東契奇（Luka Doncic）在三分線外獲得大空檔，卻未選擇出手，而是將球傳給「詹皇」詹姆斯（LeBron James）。詹姆斯接球後在失去平衡的情況下後仰三分出手，最終未能命中，讓魔術1分險勝。

LeBron James on the final possession tonight:

賽後詹姆斯談到最後一擊時表示，「很顯然，你得問問東契奇他當時看到了什麼。我覺得他當時看起來機會不錯，但好像沒找到控球節奏。當他把球傳給我的時候，我有點失去平衡。我是覺得他當時狀態很好。」
東契奇受訪時則主動承擔責任，坦言自己判斷失當，「我知道那球我有空檔，但我覺得距離有一點太遠。我不應該收球的，今天輸球全都怪我。」
