休達移民湧入後，義大利與西班牙再度延長邊境管制

路透羅馬9月15日電——義大利與西班牙內政部表示，兩國週二將彼此暫停適用歐盟免邊境查驗安排的措施再延長15天。ROME, Sept 15 (Reuters) - Italy and Spain on Tuesday extended the suspension of the European Union's border-free arrangement with each other for another 15 days, their interior ministries said.

義大利內政部表示，作出這項決定是因為「內部安全的重大風險依然存在，並伴隨可能與恐怖分子滲透有關的潛在威脅」。Italy said the decision was taken because "significant risks to internal security persist, alongside a potential threat linked to possible terrorist infiltration", the ministry said.

西班牙內政部在聲明中表示，足以支持採取這項措施的情況仍然存在，因此馬德里已決定將對義大利的邊境管制維持到10月8日。Spain's Interior Ministry said in a statement that the circumstances that justified the measure remained in place, and that Madrid had therefore decided to maintain border controls with Italy until October 8.

義大利最早於7月31日暫停對馬德里適用申根安排，當時是為了因應大批移民從鄰國摩洛哥湧入西班牙飛地休達。Italy first suspended the Schengen arrangements with Madrid on July 31 in response to a mass influx of migrants into the Spanish enclave of Ceuta from neighbouring Morocco.
