教宗良十四世稱中東衝突使猶太人與基督徒關係承受壓力

在一份為紀念天主教會過去60年宗教間對話努力而發布的新教令中，教宗也重申教會譴責反猶太主義與伊斯蘭恐懼症。In a new decree to mark the Catholic Church's last 60 years of efforts at inter-religious dialogue, the pope also reiterated the Church's condemnations of both antisemitism and Islamophobia.

這份由梵蒂岡3個最高層級部門研擬、並獲良十四世核准的教令指出：「近年來在中東爆發的衝突……已在猶太人與基督徒對話上留下痕跡。」"The conflicts that have erupted in the Middle East in recent years have … left their mark on Jewish-Christian dialogue," said the decree, developed by three top Vatican offices and approved by Leo.

良十四世是首位在美國出生的教宗；他先前曾批評伊朗戰爭，在社群媒體上招致美國總統唐納・川普的不滿。Leo, the first U.S.-born pope, has previously criticised the Iran war, drawing the ire of President Donald Trump on social media.

It also said attitudes of Islamophobia "fail to distinguish" between cases of extremist violence and the everyday lives of the world's Muslims.
