英國提升與委內瑞拉的外交關係層級

路透倫敦9月15日電——英國週二表示，將提升與委內瑞拉的外交關係層級，派任駐該國大使。英國表示，此舉將強化其在支持委內瑞拉民主轉型方面發揮作用的能力。LONDON, Sept 15 (Reuters) - Britain said on Tuesday it would upgrade its diplomatic relations with Venezuela, appointing an ambassador to the country, in a move which it said would strengthen its ability to play a role in supporting a transition to democracy.

英國政府在提交國會的書面聲明中表示：「這項決定是更廣泛國際重新接觸的一部分。」"This decision is part of a broader international reengagement," the government said in a written statement to parliament.

英國表示，此舉並不代表認可委內瑞拉有爭議的2024年選舉，也不代表支持任何政治派系，而是反映英國維持與委內瑞拉國家關係的一貫政策。Britain said the move did not signal endorsement of Venezuela's disputed 2024 election or of any political faction, but reflected its longstanding policy of maintaining relations with the Venezuelan state.

委內瑞拉對這項決定表示歡迎。委內瑞拉負責歐洲與北美事務的外交部副部長奧利佛・布蘭科（Oliver Blanco）在X平台發文表示，卡拉卡斯重視英國提升外交關係層級的舉措。Venezuela welcomed the decision. Oliver Blanco, Venezuela's deputy foreign minister for Europe and North America, said in a post on X that Caracas valued Britain's move to raise the level of diplomatic relations.

布蘭科表示：「我們重申，願意深化相互尊重且具建設性的對話，並推動兩國共同利益領域的合作，以及推進追回理應屬於委內瑞拉人民的資源。」"We reaffirm our willingness to deepen a respectful and constructive dialogue, as well as to promote cooperation in areas of common interest for our countries and to advance the recovery of resources that rightfully belong to the Venezuelan people," Blanco said.
