Google 合併 Brain 和 DeepMind 團隊，加速開發 AI 人工智慧
人工智慧公司 DeepMind 在2014 年被 Alphabet 收購，如今正與 Google Brain團隊合併，成為「Google DeepMind」。身兼 Alphabet 和 Google 的 CEO Sundar Pichai 分享了一篇文章內容指出，這兩個團隊的合併將「顯著加快我們在人工智慧方面的進展」。
原本 DeepMind 的執行長 Demis Hassabis 將擔任合併後的 Google DeepMind 的執行長，他將領導通用 AI 系統的發展。同時，Google 前資深副總裁兼 Brain 團隊的聯合創辦人 Jeff Dean 將擔任 Google Research 和 Google DeepMind 的首席科學家。
DeepMind 聞名全球的事蹟是在 2016 年以 AlphaGo 打敗南韓與中國圍棋棋王李世石和柯潔，不過 DeepMind 和 Google 先前也曾發生過摩擦。據稱，是因為 Google 在 2021 年推動 DeepMind 商業化，導致 DeepMind 無法從 Google 獲得更多的獨立性。然而，隨著 Google 進一步深入 AI 行業，DeepMind 有望結合 Google 旗下研究團隊增強研發。
在 2023 年 3 月，Google 推出與 ChatGPT 和 Bing Chat 競爭的聊天機器人「Bard」，但是這個聊天機器人的測試卻完全不及格。而這次合併後的 Google DeepMind 將結合所有 AI 人才與 Google 資源，以安全且負責任的態度打造通用 AI 系統，改善生活、革新產業推進科學。
