亞當斯的離世消息已由南非足球員工會（SAFPU）發布聲明證實，工會在聲明中表達了深切的悲痛與不捨。聲明中指出，亞當斯不久前才剛披上國家隊戰袍出戰世界盃，他帶著榮耀、勇氣與卓越的表現扛起國人期望，他的離去對家人、隊友、球會、整個南非足球圈乃至國家，都是無法估量的損失。
