公鹿以全勝姿態奪下本屆NBA盃冠軍，成為新科季中王者後，卻在回歸例行賽戰場的第一戰，以101比124慘敗在騎士手上，令網路上出現不少批評的聲音，甚至有人認為總教練Doc Rivers一開始就未能掌控局勢，導致球隊一路被壓著打，不過，在NBA盃冠軍戰繳出「大三元」成績單並榮膺MVP的「字母哥」Giannis Antetokounmpo跳出來強調相信團隊能力，希望各界不要言之過早。
