In Japan and South Korea, men are generally expected to spend three times as much on White Day as women spend on Valentine’s Day. If a man gives a gift equal in value to the one he received, it might imply he wants to break up. Yet another difference has to do with the colors associated with each day. Red is associated with Valentine’s Day. It’s the color of the heart and of love itself.
