事實上，「嘴跑拳王」麥克格雷與川普可說是惺惺相惜，去年7月，川普在競選活動中遭到槍擊，麥克格雷公開對川普表達支持，麥克格雷當時說：「作為一位 78 歲的億萬富翁，他應該乘坐遊艇去地中海打高爾夫，但他沒有這樣做，而是在美國賓州四處奔走！他為祖國而戰！上帝保佑川普！上帝保佑美國！」今年1月，麥克格雷受邀參加川普就職典禮。
