GMMTV wins Thailand Public Diplomacy Awards 2025
Thai entertainment company GMM TV has won the Thailand Public Diplomacy Awards 2025. It was honoured for its effective use of ‘soft power’ to promote Thailand’s culture and image globally.
Sataporn Panichraksapong, CEO of GMMTV, accepted the award for the organisation and expressed gratitude, hoping that it will encourage everyone to create works which further disseminate Thai culture.

He stated that GMMTV's content, which has gained popularity worldwide, is a source of pride for everyone, adding that all artists are not just building fan clubs for themselves, but are also creating a "fan club for Thailand," and are serving as the country's cultural ambassadors.
“This success stems from the fundamental charm of the Thai people, such as humility and the Thai smile, which are unique characteristics that distinguish Thailand from other nations”, he said.
Takonkiet Viravan, the CEO of Channel ONE 31, under the same parent entity, GMM Grammy, revealed that the most popular content among its international audience are its “Boy Love” series, with their biggest fan bases in China, Japan, Indonesia, Brazil, Mexico and in Europe.
He also shared feedback from the foreign audience when asked 'What do you like about Thailand?' He said, “It's always the people, the food. Those are like the top two, and it's the ‘Thainess’ that you can't deny.”

The awards, organised annually by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Thailand Foundation, recognise outstanding contributions to fostering trust and understanding of Thailand among the international community.
The award recipient will have their name inscribed on the perpetual “Goodwill” trophy and on the wall of honour at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. They will also receive a replica trophy, a certificate and monetary support for future operations.
The presentation ceremony for the 2025 Awards was held on December 2nd, 2025 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
