He said that officers working on the investigation havealready completed their questioning of Nalin, Boon’s daughter, but declined to elaborate. Officers will question Charuwan, his former wife, today.
Both have claimed that signatures purporting to be theirs, which appear on the loan and guarantee agreements between Boon and the investors, were forged, and that they knew nothing about the alleged fraud.
Pol Maj-Gen Atthaporn said Charuwan told the police that her ex-husband is currently in China. Thai Interpol has the issuance of a ‘Red Notice’ for the arrest of the fugitive doctor.
Multiple charges have already been filed against Boon, his wife, daughter and six other associates, including defrauding the public, money laundering and violations of the Cheque Act.
According to the police, Boon had posted announcements onsocial media, claiming that THG was planning to invest in five medical service projects in Thailand, Laos and Vietnam, none of which have materialised.
Investors transferred their payments to Boon, backed by loan and guarantee agreements. In return, they were issued with post-dated cheques, representing their returns plus interest, and a promise of THG shares.
The post-dated cheques, however, bounced when presented to the bank.
