11 local officials and civilians to face charges related to recruitment examination fraud

The Crime Suppression Division (CSD) team tasked with investigating the Local Administration Department’s recruitment exam scam plans to charge 11 local administrative officials and civilians with alleged involvement in the scandal, Pol Gen Kitrat Phanphet, the national police chief said today.

Kitrat chaired a joint meeting of representatives from the Office of the Public Sector Anti-Corruption Commission, the Central Investigation Bureau and the Local Administration Department to provide an update on the investigation.

A summary report of the case will be submitted to Deputy Prime Minister Pakorn Nilprapunt this Friday, along with the case file of the National Anti-Corruption Commission.

All the 11 people to be charged by the CSD include two civilians and nine local administrative, officials who were found at the office of Sam Muang Company in Nonthaburi province when NACC officials and police raided the premises on June 25.

Desk-top computers, laptops and more than 9,000 exam answer sheets were found at the location.
