Thais in Israel and Iran advised to leave now, as US-Israeli strikes hit Tehran
The Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) has issued a statement today in response to the new and heavy military action against Iran by the US and Israel, urging Thai nationals living in Iran and Israel to leave as soon as possible while commercial flights are still operating.
The warning came as US and Israel launched pre-emptive strikes on Iran today (Saturday).
In the statement, the Thai MFA wrote that “the current tensions in the Middle East may intensify and expand, potentially affecting the safety and well-being of Thai nationals residing in the region.”
The MFA also advises those who cannot leave to consider relocating to designated hardened shelters.
Thai nationals are advised to reconsider any plans to travel to the affected areas, as the current situation remains volatile and may change rapidly.
If emergency assistance is needed, Thai nationals can contact the Royal Thai Embassy or Consulate-General in their area, or the Department of Consular Affairs Call Centre on +66 2 572 8442, available 24/7.
