People’s party leading in latest NIDA Poll
The People’s party is ahead of all other parties in terms of the popularity of its party leader, Natthaphong Ruengpanyawut, as is its chance of winning the most constituency and party-list seats in the House, according to the latest opinion poll, conducted by the National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA), the results of which were released yesterday.
On the question of who is most favoured as the next prime minister among all prime ministerial candidates registered by parties, the poll shows Natthaphong ahead (24.76%), followed by Anutin Charnvirakul of the Bhumjaithai party (20.84%). 14.12% did not select any candidate.
The fourth place is Democrat party Leader Abhisit Vejjajiva (12.12%), followed by Yodchanan Wongsawat of the Pheu Thai party (9.64%), General Rangsi Kitiyansap, leader of the Economic party (5.04%), Thai Sang Thai Party Leader Sudarat Keyuraphan (2.64%), Julapun Amornvivat, leader of the Pheu Thai party (1.92%), Sirikanya Tansakul of the People’s party (1.84%) and Pirapan Salirathavibhaga, leader of the United Thai Nation party (1.32%).
On the question of for which parties’ constituency candidates the respondents intend to vote, the poll shows 30.40% of the respondents will vote for the People’s party, followed by the Bhumjaithai party (21.96%), Pheu Thai (15.72%) and Democrat party (12.16%). 8.40% remain undecided.
In sixth place is the Economic party (4.04%), followed by United Thai Nation party (2.20%) and the Thai Sang Thai party (1.60%).
On party list choices, 30.48% of the respondents said they will vote for the People’s party, 22.32% for the Bhumjaithai party, 15.44% for the Pheu Thai party, 12.56% for the Democrat party and 7.80% were undecided.
In sixth place, in the party list selections, is the Economic party (4.16%), then the United Thai Nation party (2.24%) and the Thai Sang Thai party (1.76%).
