Thunderstorms expected as Thailand transitions into rainy season
Thailand will officially enter the rainy season between May 15 and 17, although rainfall is expected to be intermittent, with possible thunderstorms in the late afternoons and evenings.
Daytime conditions will remain hot, according to the Meteorological Department’s forecast released today.
Clear signs of the rainy season’s onset include strengthening southwesterly winds and rain clouds moving inland from the sea toward the southern region.
The department predicts that over the next 24 hours, the North and Northeast will experience hot conditions during the day, with extreme heat in some parts of the North and Central regions.
Isolated thundershowers and gusty winds are forecast in some areas due to the heat, while southwesterly and southeasterly winds continue to bring moisture into the regions.
