Thai Air Force briefs foreign attaches, stresses precision and civilian safety
The Thai Air Force Commander in Chief today reemphasised that recent air operations along the Thai-Cambodian border were aimed at neutralising military targets, conducted in accordance with the principles of self-defense and executed appropriately and proportionately.
In a briefing to 29 foreign defense attachés from 22 countries, Air Chief Marshal Seksan Kantha highlighted that Thailand’s military operations are committed to sovereignty and the protection of civilians, while adhering to international law.
The attending attachés included those from China, India, Japan, Russia, Sweden, the United States and South Korea.
Seksan said, “The Royal Thai Air Force operates with great restraint, precision and professionalism. Our top priorities are the minimisation of harm to civilians and safeguarding Thai territory.”
He confirmed that the Air Force is fully prepared to respond if any additional tensions arise along the border.
Speaking at the same briefing, Air Chief Marshal Prapas Sornchaidee, director of the Thai-Cambodian Joint Information Coordination Centre, insisted on the military’s readiness to maintain peace and ensure civilian safety.
Air Force spokesperson Air Marshal Chakkrit Thammavichai presented evidence supporting an allegation that Cambodia’s has laid new mines and has used ancient sites as military outposts.
He also addressed misinformation and fake news circulating online, including false claims about chemical weapon use and misconduct towards Cambodian tourists.
