Chao Phraya express boat fares to rise by 1 baht from Aug 21
Fares for all passengers on Chao Phraya express boat services will be raised by 1 baht from this Friday due to an increase in diesel prices.
The company’s managing director, Charoenporn Charoentham, said that diesel prices had risen to 37.59 baht per litre as of Aug 12.
The service provides boat services between Pak Kret and Wat Rajsingkorn piers.
The new fares will be:
• Orange flag: Nonthaburi-Wat Rajsingkorn, rising to 18 baht.
• Yellow flag: Nonthaburi-Sathorn, rising to 23 baht.
• Green-yellow flag: Pak Kret-Nonthaburi, rising to 16 baht: Nonthaburi-Sathorn, rising to 23 baht: Pak Kret-Sathorn, rising to 35 baht.
• Red flag (air-conditioned): Nonthaburi-Sathorn, rising to 32 baht.
The latest increase comes after several fare adjustments this year in response to fluctuations in diesel prices.
Fares were raised by 2 baht in March before being cut by 1 baht in April and again in May. They were then raised again by 1 baht in late May, reduced by 1 baht in June and cut by another 1 baht in July.
The company said it will reduce fares again if diesel prices fall.
