YouTuber sorry for Songkran grout prank, repeat offence risk

A YouTuber and online creator has apologised to those affected by his stunt in which he mixed grout products with flour and smeared it on others during the Songkran Phra Pradaeng festival late last month.

Teerawat Srirod, known online as ‘Bird Wan Wang’, met Phra Pradaeng police investigators at a station in Samut Prakan during the weekend to discuss the April 26 incident, which drew heavy criticism on social media.

He admitted his actions were inappropriate and reckless, saying he acted impulsively while trying to create content for income. He apologised to local residents and those affected by the stunt.

Police arranged a mediation session between Teerawat and the victims, during which he paid 2,000 baht in compensation. The victims agreed not to pursue further legal action.

Authorities said, however, that the case remains under review pending medical reports on the extent of any injuries. Investigators will then decide whether to press charges.

Police also noted that Teerawat’s past record could be taken into account, noting that he had previously received a suspended sentence and may be considered a repeat offender.

Teerawat has a history of controversial content, often criticised as “harassment for views.” One past incident involved paying someone to drink alcohol on camera, which led to the death of an individual known as ‘Bank Leicester’ last year.

The court found him guilty on April 29, 2025, sentencing him to one year in prison, suspended for two years, with one year of probation.

He vowed at that time not to create content that would negatively affect others.

The latest incident during the Phra Pradaeng Songkran festival, has raised questions among the public, as less than a year has passed since the court’s ruling, yet he has allegedly reoffended.

A lawyer said in a television interview that, if Teerawat committed another offence while on probation and a suspended sentence, the court could combine the previous suspended sentence with penalties from the new case.

Separately, the manufacturer of the grout product used in the stunt is preparing legal action under the Computer Crime Act, arguing that the misuse of its product could pose safety risks and damage its reputation.

Authorities are also working with the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society to shut down additional social media accounts linked to him.
