Several social media platforms, both Thai and English, have posted photos of Daniel Davies from Llanelli, Wales, asking anyone who sees him to alert the police.
His family has already filed a missing person report with the Welsh police.
According to The Mirror online, Davies, who is 6 feet tall (1.83m), of slim build, with blond hair and a beard, had been staying at a hostel in Bangkok before he was last seen on Phi Phi Island.
His aunt, Nicola Doran, was quoted by The Mirror as saying: "My nephew, Daniel Davies, has gone missing in Bangkok, Thailand.
He's been reported and is now a missing person. No one has had any contact in weeks."
Doran’s Facebook post asking for help has been widely shared.
One of his friends added that his phone is switched off and no one has heard from him since mid-March, which is very unusual for him.
