Fuel tanker blast kills one in Khon Kaen
A fuel tanker truck exploded inside a private oil depot in Khon Kaen’s Kranuan district this morning, triggering a massive fire and leaving one worker dead.
Flames engulfed the tanker and surrounding area, prompting authorities to dispatch multiple fire engines to the scene.
A nearby school evacuated all students, moving them to safer ground.
Firefighters were able to bring the blaze under control, but emergency crews remain on site to prevent further ignition.
Firefighters from the Royal Thai Air Force Training Centre, at Nam Phong Air Wing, continued spraying firefighting foam onto the tanker, to reduce the risk of flare-ups caused by remaining fuel.
The cause of the explosion is under investigation.
