Actress Nana granted bail on fraud charge
Actress Rybena Intachai, aka ‘Nana Rybena’, was released on one-million baht bail today by the Criminal Court, as the police have decided to drop the charge of defrauding the public against her, on the grounds that the victims are mostly her close friends, not members of the public.
Rybena was escorted to the Criminal Court today by cybercrime officers to seek the court’s approval to extend her detention, pending further investigation into the fraud case, in which a small group, mostly close friends of the actress were duped into investing a total of about 190 million baht in a non-existent business project.
The court decided to grant her bail, though, on the condition that she must not leave the country without court’s permission.
Pol Maj-Gen Tatphum Charuprach, commander of the Cybercrime Investigation Division
Meanwhile, Pol Maj-Gen Tatphum Charuprach, commander of the Cybercrime Investigation Division, said that the actress had denied all the charges against her, but agreed to submit a written statement in due course.
Regarding her husband, Prinya Intachai, Tatphum said that, since no one has filed a complaint against him, police cannot not press any charges.
Pol Col Nittichote Phenchamras, a cybercrime officer, said that the police are now checking the Ledger Nano X gadget, seized from Rybena, to find out if there is still any crypto currency stored on it.
He added that police are also still checking whether the actress had falsified any investment documents.
