One more suspect, allegedly connected to the TG cabin crew member drug smuggling case, was arrested by police in Phitsanulok province on Friday.

The suspect, only identified as ‘Uthai’, is allegedly implicated as the ‘hooded man’ who delivered the parcel containing the drugs to the Bang Na condominium, in which the cabin crew member ‘Meena’ was living before her arrest in Melbourne, Australia, on June 25 by the Australian Border Force, as she allegedly tried to smuggle heroin into the country concealed in 12 fabric tote bags.

The driver of the dark grey sedan, which was captured on the condominium’s CCTV on June 22, was arrested earlier. He reportedly told the police that the hooded man was seated next to him in the front passenger seat and was the person who delivered the drug parcel.

Pol Gen Samran Nualma, the deputy national police chief and director of the Narcotics Prevention and Suppression Command Centre, along with police investigators, are due to escort Uthai to his lodgings in Ayutthaya province today for a search.

Police claim that Uthai admitted to delivering the package to Meena’s condominium and that he had made similar deliveries several times before.

The suspect declined, however, to provide any information about other people in the drug trafficking network or about the driver, said the police.

Meanwhile, the Department of Special Investigations has accepted a case pertaining to a couple who were arrested in Loei province, allegedly for sending several parcels of locally-made products concealing illegal narcotics to Bangkok for forwarding to Australia and Taiwan.

The two suspects, ‘Arthit’ and his Laotian wife, ‘Tassaporn’, were questioned by DSI officers for several hours last night. The two are due to be taken to the Criminal Court this morning by DSI officials to have their detention extended.

They have denied any connection to the TG cabin crew drug case, according to the DSI.
