Commuters warned as water erupts onto Din Daeng road
Commuters are being urged to avoid Pracha Songkhro Road near the ‘The Prom’ intersection, after water began emerging from the middle of the road surface on Thursday afternoon.
The Din Daeng District Office was alerted to the incident at 3:30pm yesterday, as water was seen bubbling up, affecting an area of about two square metres.
District Chief Panisara Natetharnthorn, along with her assistant Somkid Phanphet and municipal officials from the public works, city law enforcement and sanitation departments have inspected the site. They have since coordinated with the Department of Drainage and Sewerage, the Department of Public Works, the Metropolitan Waterworks Authority (MWA) Phaya Thai branch and the Din Daeng Police Station to manage traffic and begin repairs.
An initial assessment by the Public Works Department's Construction Centre 2 suggests the eruption may have been caused by underground pressure, though the exact cause remains unconfirmed. Authorities are currently waiting for MWA officials to inspect the site and carry out repairs.
Motorists are strongly advised to avoid the intersection and seek alternative routes until the situation is resolved.
