🌏 58% of the world lives in Asia. So why bring WorldPride here? Waaddao explains the 5Rs at the heart of Bangkok’s Bid Book.

📊 Asia is home to 58% of humanity, yet 21 countries in Asia still have criminal laws against LGBT people. That’s why we want to open the door for Asia.

The 5Rs of the Bangkok WorldPride 2030 Bid Book
▪️Roots – a long struggle, from the first Bangkok Gay Pride in 1999 back to Pattaya and Silom
▪️Reach – reaching people across Asia
▪️Rights – using WorldPride to open the door to gender recognition, after marriage equality
▪️Resilience – a space of human dignity
▪️Responsibility – a sense of accountability

🏳️‍⚧️ Pride Clinics, health networks, drag stars, trans visibility and legal progress: that’s why Bangkok is ready to host.

“We’re not the leader, and we’re not a new star. We’re just one more star that wants to shine and help bring change to Asia.”

It’s the final stretch. This 30 October, cheer this star on to shine for Asia! 🌟
