British husband surrenders after fatal shooting of Thai wife
A British citizen was arrested by Thai police in Khon Kaen province today for allegedly shooting and killing his Thai wife in Maha Sarakham province.
Maha Sarakham police said the suspect, identified only as Anthony, had a heated argument with his 44-year-old wife, Patri Uraphanom, at their home in Khok Kor sub-district over an unknown issue.
During the quarrel, Anthony allegedly grabbed a handgun and shot his wife dead before fleeing the scene in their white SUV, taking the weapon with him.
Police later reviewed CCTV footage along the escape route and found the vehicle abandoned in front of the Sirikit Heart Centre in Khon Kaen.
The suspect was then picked up by another car and taken to a hotel.
With assistance from Khon Kaen police, officers surrounded the hotel while a police negotiator attempted to persuade James to surrender. He later turned himself in and was taken to Maha Sarakham province to face charges.
