Man dies in apparent suicide outside shooting range
A man apparently shot himself dead with a rented handgun outside a shooting range in Bang Bua Thong district of Nonthaburi today.
Police identified the victim as ‘Nawadol’ (surname withheld), 36. He was found lying dead outside the shooting range with a gunshot wound to his temple. An 11mm pistol was found beside his body.
A shooting instructor reportedly told police that Nawadol was a regular customer at the shooting range and had arrived today to rent a handgun and buy ammunition for target practice.
He asked the instructor if he could take the gun outside the shooting range, claiming that he wanted to smoke a cigarette, but was stopped by the instructor. Nevertheless, he managed to sneak out with the pistol and used it to shoot himself.
The victim’s family members reportedly told police that Nawadol had a history of depression.
