Crime Suppression Division (CSD) police have set tomorrow as the deadline for 13 suspects, allegedly involved in the Department of Local Administration (DLA) recruitment exam scam, to turn themselves in to acknowledge the charges against them.

CSD Commander Pol. Maj Gen. Pattanasak Bubpasuwan said that summonses have already been sent to the 13 suspects, requiring them to come forward to knowledge the charges, adding that one suspect, former DLA director general Teeruth Supawiboonpol has asked for a postponement until next week, while a second suspect, Ruangdet Sirikit, director of the Educational Tests and Psychology Bureau at Srinakharinwirot University, has promised to see the police tomorrow.

He said that the two suspects are to face seven charges related to the exam fraud.

The other 11 other suspects, who were allegedly involved in tampering with the score sheets of the exam candidates at a house in Nonthaburi province, have not yet contacted the CSD. They have, though, already testified to the National Anti-Corruption Commission.

Pattanasak warned that second summonses would be issued against suspects who failed to respond to the first summonses. Failure to report then would result in arrest warrants bring issued.

Regarding a separate group of three suspects, namely ‘Phichit’, ‘Asawin’ and ‘Sataporn’, who are currently being detained on charges of violating the Computer Crime Act and criminal association, the CSD commander said that additional charges of abetting officials in abuse of their authority will be pressed.
