Huge turnout at Icon Siam for the countdown to 2025

Over 100,000 Thais and visitors are expected to converge at the Icon Siam shopping mall tonight to participate in the ‘Amazing Thailand Countdown 2025’ event, which will feature a huge fireworks display and multiple musical performances, with K-pop queen Lalisa “Lisa” Manoban as the star attraction.

The event will be streamed live via the ICONSIAM YouTube channel and broadcast on NBT, Thai Rath TV, Channel 32HD, One31, GMM25 and TNN16 from 11pm.

The Icon Siam countdown was featured on New York’s Times Square’s huge TV screen today.

It is reported that an almost endless stream of people began arriving at the compound of the spacious river-front shopping mall as early as 3pm today.

All visitors are being screened for contraband by security officials before being allowed into the compound, as the management, with the cooperation of the police, has tightened up security to ensure safety for all visitors. Ambulances and medical personnel are on standby at the event ground.

Hundreds of police have been mobilised to direct traffic and patrol the event ground, to ensure peace and order and to assist visitors.

Lisa is scheduled to appear on stage at 11.20pm for about half an hour and will join everyone else for the countdown.

Other countdown events are being held at the Central World, One Bangkok and EmQuartier shopping malls in Bangkok and at various locations across the country.
