Pre-dawn fire at Wattana building contained with no reported injuries

Firefighters have controlled a blaze that erupted on the residential floor of a building in Pridi Banomyong (Sukhumvit 71) Soi 15, in Wattana district of Bangkok, at around 5am this morning. There were no reports of injuries.

The firefighters arrived at the scene to find the top floor of a six-storey building engulfed in flames.

The first to fifth floors were used as office space, while the sixth floor was residential. All occupants were safely evacuated.

By about 5.47am, the fire had been brought under control and was soon fully extinguished.

An initial investigation indicates that the fire destroyed the sixth floor and partially damaged the fifth.
