Prices of diesel, benzine and gasohol rise by 1.80 baht/litre today
The Oil Fuel Fund Executive Committee has decided to increase the prices of diesel, benzine and all types of gasohol by 1.80 baht/litre, effective today.
The increase has pushed the prices of diesel to 40.74 baht/litre, gasohol E85 to 33.79 baht/litre, gasohol E20 to 37.05 baht/litre, gasohol 91 to 41.68 baht/litre, gasohol 95 to 42.05 baht/litre, benzine to 50.64 baht/litre, super power diesel to 56.44 baht/litre and super power gasohol to 53.04 baht/litre.
The fund’s committee has also decided to increase the subsidy on diesel by 2.09 baht/litre, to 18.76 baht, in response to the surge in global diesel prices to US$238 per barrel on March 27th. The pre-war prices were US$92-95 per barrel.
The fund’s committee said that the subsidy increase will incur an additional expense for the Oil Fuel Fund of about 170 million baht per day, resulting in the Fund registering a loss of 42.1 billion baht as of March 29th, including 4.8 billion baht for fuels and 37.3 billion baht for LPG.
On March 26th, the Oil Fuel Fund Executive Committee decided to increase the prices of diesel, benzine and gasohol by 6 baht per litre, which caused a shock and panic buying.
