Thamanat takes helm of Klatham party in leadership reshuffle
The Klatham Party has elected a new executive board, with Thamanat Prompow stepping up as the new party leader, while Phai Lik retains his position as secretary general.
During the party’s annual general meeting yesterday, members gathered to restructure the leadership following the resignation of Narumon Pinyosinwat from the top post on April 27.
Under party regulations, her resignation triggered the vacating of the entire executive board, necessitating a fresh vote.
The meeting achieved the appointment of a 21-member executive committee. The key appointments include Thamanat Prompow, the party’s leader, Phai Lik, as secretary general, Narumon Pinyosinwat, as party treasurer and Boonsing Warinrak as the party’s registrar.
The new board also features prominent political figures, such as Atthakorn Sirilatthayakorn and Dr. Jenjira Ratanapian, alongside a broad slate of executive members including Itthi Sirilatthayakorn, Thanakrit Jitarrerat and Akara-Sankiri Loveera.
Observers note that this leadership transition consolidates the party’s core power base, as Capt Thamanat moves from his previous role as chief advisor to officially leading the organisation.
