Thais in Bahrain advised to prepare emergency kits amid Israel-Iran escalation

The Thai Foreign Ministry has issued a statement expressing grave concern over the escalating tension between Israel and Iran, especially following the military involvement of the United States.

These developments pose a serious threat to regional peace and stability and risk further escalation, all of which are dangerous and affect countless civilians, the statement read.

The statement continues, “Thailand calls upon all parties to cease all acts of violence immediately and seek a peaceful resolution to the conflict, in accordance with international law, the UN Charter and international humanitarian law, to prevent further loss and suffering.”

The United States stepped into the conflict over the weekend, with US President Donald Trump stating that the U.S. had carried out the successful bombing of three nuclear sites in Iran, which he claimed had been “obliterated.”

The Thai ministry has advised Thai citizens in Israel and Iran to leave the countries as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, the Thai Embassy in Bahrain has recommended that Thai nationals be prepared for unrest, due to the escalating conflict.

It advised citizens to prepare an emergency bag, containing essential items, including their passport, cash, a mobile phone, a power bank and charging cable, food, water, clothing, blanket, personal medications, a notebook, a pen, a flashlight, rope, a knife, a lighter and plastic bags.

Given the febrile situation, Thai nationals are urged to follow updates from the embassy closely and stay informed through reliable news sources.

Although Bahrain is not a main actor in the conflict, it is geographically close to Iran and, in the event of a regional escalation, it could fall within range of Iranian missiles, either intentionally or accidentally.

The country hosts the US Navy’s Fifth Fleet, making it a strategic military hub for Washington and a potential target, if Tehran retaliates against US interests in the region.
