Thailand to see 1–4°C drop as cold air mass arrives
Temperatures across Thailand are forecast to drop by 1–4°C tomorrow due to the arrival of a strong high-pressure system from China blanketing the northern and northeastern regions, the Meteorological Department reported today.
Beginning tomorrow, temperatures in northeastern provinces are expected to fall by 2–4°C, while those in the rest of the country — including Bangkok — will drop by 1–3°C.
Minimum temperatures in the northern region are forecast at 13–18°C, with morning fog. In mountainous areas, temperatures will range from 3–13°C, with winds of 10–20 kph.
Minimum temperatures in northeastern provinces are expected to range from 13–18°C, while highland areas will be colder, at 8–15°C.
Central provinces will be cool and windy, with minimum temperatures falling to 16–19°C and winds of 10–30 kph. In Bangkok, minimum temperatures are forecast at 20–23°C.
Eastern provinces will experience strong winds and a drop of 1–3°C, to minimum temperatures of 17–22°C.
Along the eastern coast of the South, thunderstorms are expected over 20% of the area, with minimum temperatures ranging from 18–24°C.
Meanwhile, the western coast will see thunderstorms over about 10% of the area, with minimum temperatures of 22–24°C.
