Minor earthquake hit Chiang Rai last night, no reports of damage

A 3.6 magnitude earthquake shook four districts of Thailand's northern province of Chiang Rai about 45 minutes after midnight last night (Thursday morning), according to the Department of Mineral Resources.
The tremor occurred at a depth of about two kilometres under Ban Dong Mada of Mae Lao district on the Mae Lao fault line. People living in the Mae Lao, Mueang, Pan and Mae Sruey districts felt the tremor, but there have been no aftershocks. No reports of property damage have been received so far.
The Meteorological Department reported, however, that it has received 10 reports from people living in one and two-storey houses and apartments that they felt their beds or houses shake.
More than 300 earthquakes on the Mae Lao fault line have been recorded since 2014, with the strongest registered at a 6.3 magnitude on the Richter scale on May 12, 2014.
There have been 335 tremors of under a 3.0 magnitude, 21 earthquakes of between magnitudes of 3.0 and 3.9 and one between 4.0-4.9.
