Abhisit, Korn, and Karndee announced as Democrat PM candidates

The Democrat Party unveiled its three prime ministerial candidates today ahead of the registration of election candidacy, which begins tomorrow.

The candidates are party leader Abhisit Vejjajiva as the first choice, followed by two deputy leaders, Korn Chatikavanij and Karndee Leopairote.

The party’s campaign message emphasizes that, to rid Thailand of poverty, the foremost priorities must be to establish honest and transparent politics and eliminate so-called “grey” businesses.

The party also introduced former finance minister Korn, winner of the World’s Finance Minister Award at age 44, who will lead efforts to drive the Thai economy by increasing Thailand’s competitiveness and connectivity.

Meanwhile, Karndee, an expert in the digital economy and future technology, will prepare a roadmap for poverty reduction through digital innovation and technology.
