Army files police complaint over alleged misuse of Nakhon Nayok military land
The Army has filed a complaint with police over the alleged use of military-controlled land in Nakhon Nayok province as a resort and trail-running course linked to the husband of television host Panadda Wongphudee.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment has joined efforts to establish the land’s boundaries and determine whether any forestry regulations have been violated.
Army spokesman Maj Gen Winthai Suvaree said on Tuesday that preliminary findings indicated the land was being used without Army authorisation.
The property is state land under the Army’s custody, administered by the 12th Military Circle, with the 2nd Infantry Battalion, 2nd Infantry Regiment, King’s Guard, also involved in the area’s administration.
Winthai said the responsible military unit had filed a complaint with police to initiate legal proceedings.
The Army is also checking whether permission was granted for private use of the land and whether the necessary approval for a lease had been obtained from the Treasury Department.
Meanwhile, the Natural Resources and Environment Ministry has sent a team to the site in Si Ka-ang sub-district, Ban Na district, to investigate the land’s status and determine the extent of the area used for the trail-running course.
The ministry said the investigation would involve checking maps and land boundaries with relevant agencies, including the Treasury Department, to determine whether the development extended beyond the approximately 3.68 hectares reportedly covered by the land-use claim.
The site has also been linked to claims involving an area of more than 16 hectares.
