Veneer slips, composure stays on Thai pageant stage
A mishap at the Miss Grand Thailand 2026 pageant has gone viral across domestic and international social media and news outlets, after the dental veneer of an 18-year-old contestant came loose mid-performance but she carried on with poise and a big smile.
The incident occurred during the evening gown round, when Kamolwan Chanako, representing Pathum Thani, was on stage introducing herself to a large audience. Her dental veneer suddenly loosened and slipped out of place.
In a video clip that went viral, she showed no sign of panic. She simply turned away briefly to remove the loose veneer before returning to face the crowd and proceeding with her graceful walk, striking a final pose with a big smile.
The moment quickly spread online, drawing widespread attention and praise from fans, who applauded her professionalism and calm handling of the situation.
Multiple international and regional media outlets, including Fox News and E! News, picked up the story, describing the incident as a “viral accident” and commending Kamolwan for dealing with it in a “professional and composed” manner.
The incident has since become a talking point among pageant followers, with many calling it a “legendary moment” in Thai pageant history — proof that even an on-stage mishap could not shake her composure or spirit, leaving a lasting impression.
However, Kamolwan did not win a title at the pageant, which concluded on March 28.
