Two injured in a helicopter crash in Samut Prakan
Two people were injured when their two-seater helicopter crashed into bushes near the maintenance centre of the BTS sky-train system in Muang district of Samut Prakan on Sunday morning.
According to an initial report, the ill-fated helicopter caught fire after it crashed onto a grassy area in Thai Ban sub-district. The two people on board, whose identities have not be made public, were injured. Emergency services managed to rescue the two victims and took them to the district hospital for treatment.
The area around the rash site were cordoned off by police while aviation experts were on their way to investigate the cause of the accident.
The downed chopper was a French-made Guimbal Cabri G2 type, used primarily for training and aerial photography.
