Trinuch takes over as Palang Pracharath leader after Prawit steps down
Trinuch Thienthong will become Palang Pracharath party leader after Gen Prawit Wongsuwan tendered his resignation today, said Paiboon Nititawan, deputy part leader.
Paiboon announced the reshuffle after a meeting of the party’s executive committee that Prawit submitted a letter of resignation.
The executive committee resolved to appoint Trinuch, the party’s prime ministerial candidate, as new leader, effective immediately.
Prawit will continue to assist the party behind the scenes by serving as Chairman of the Party Advisory Board, providing guidance and support for the party’s operations.
Paiboon revealed Gen Prawit’s decision was solely caused by his health issues and was not related to any other political factors.
He also emphasized that the party will continue its political work as usual, and this leadership change will not affect the party’s preparations for upcoming elections in any way.
